How It Works

Getting started is easier than you might think

Step 1: Choose a plan

Step 2: Apply now

  • It's quick and easy to get a quote and apply online, 24/7, or call us on 1800 668 502 (8.30am - 5pm EST, Mon - Fri).

  • Your policy will commence at midnight at the end of the day that your proposal has been accepted by us. You may make a claim for an accident as soon as your policy is effective.

  • A 30-day waiting period applies for illness condition claims.

  • Note that a 6 month waiting period applies for cruciate conditions unless we receive a letter from your vet within 14 days of the policy commencement date certifying that your pet has no cruciate ligament conditions.

Step 3: Get treatment

  • When your pet is ill or injured, bring a claim form with you to the vet's practice if you can.

  • Have your veterinarian list a diagnosis and fill in the relevant parts of the form. Ensure your vet includes his/her practice details in the attached invoice.

Step 4: File a claim

  • Attach detailed itemised invoices and payment receipts to the completed claim form and mail it to us.

  • Ensure you submit claims to us within 60 days of treatment.

Step 5: Receive payment

  • Once we receive your claim form, we will process your claim without delay.

  • Depending on your nominated preference, your refund will either be debited directly into your bank account or we will mail you a cheque.

Instant quote. Cover you pet for accident and illness
The Johnson’s family story....our Jack Russell ran through builder’s scaffolding and fell 5 metres to the ground below. He broke a leg and injured his back in the fall. Once we had paid our $100 excess, our Bow Wow Meow Accident Plan covered all aspects of Oscar’s treatment.
